Characteristic	Dorsal rays XIV, 12-13; Anal rays II, 12-13; pectoral rays 18-19; lateral-line scales 16-17; body depth 1.8-2.0 in standard length. 3 spinous procurrent caudal rays on both upper and lower orgins of caudal fin. Overall color is brown; posterior edges of dorsal, caudal and anal fins lighter.
habitats	Inhabits steep slopes and rocky bottoms mainly on offshore reefs from 12 to 40m depth.
Distribution	Distributed in northwest Pacific including Izu Islands to Okinawa, Japan and Taiwan. It is very rare and only found in southern western Taiwanese waters.
Utility	No commercial value.
